Thank you Nicolette for your words and courage. We so need them now. I was shame when I read our newspapers… and compared to Jamaica, we should be doing way way way more… But at least our PM says no repatriation for now… I’m wondering what we can do to pressure our govt to halt deportation indefinitely – how can we push for protected status? Any ideas and/or campaigns in support of this at home – please let me know. I just wrote a piece on my blog about this and highlighting the migration issue. Have a read – would love your comments.

o sista i hear you. the newspapers are a national disgrace and they have caused us so much damage over the years. f#### them indeed. the free and good voices in our country are on the web. may the Holy Mother have mercy on all us islanders today. may our govt and people mobilize humanitarian efforts for Haiti in spite of the hateful newspapers. we must take care of our own. we never know when it could be our turn. we must all take care of each other.
