Two thumbs and one big-toe up from me.
Pros:
• The colors play well together.
• Looks like a person’s face (head)…. “Ringplay” could pass for braids.
• Looks like a sun rising.
• It is simple, eye-catching, identifiable, pleasing and memorable.
Cons:
• The way that some letters in the word “Ringplay” fall outside the yellow ring is a bit disconcerting.
• The curvature on “Productions” almost reduces the “d” to and “a”.
• If I view it as a head, it seems to be a female head. Admittedly, I can accept that it could be androgynous or even a male head but it’s initial impact is female.
• Traditionally the color pink represents girls, while blue represents boys. If we choose to pay attention to any of that stuff then I want to know why is the “boy” in the logo tagged with the tragic somber misery-lined face.
Hey, Ian, thanks for the feedback. I’ve posted another version, in black and white. In response to your cons, we planned the letters outside the yellow ring because when they were inside they were kinda boring. We didn’t have any intention of having it appear like a female or male head, but that’s interesting. Even beyond that, we picked pink and blue because they looked good, not because they represented male and female! But again interesting.
