The Bahamas will NOT host Carifesta in 2008

Next year’s Carifesta event is no longer to be held in the Bahamas
The government announced that next year’s Carifesta event will not longer be held in the Bahamas.
According to a government statement at the request of the Bahamas during the Barbados meeting of CARICOM heads last week, the Caribbean Community agreed that Carifesta – scheduled to be held in Nassau in 2008 – will instead be hosted by Guyana next year.
The Bahamas will host Carifesta in 2012, the statement said.
